In today’s highly competitive world, it has gradually become one of the most important functions of an organization. Innovation and creativity by HR professionals can make a big difference in how an employee can actually be attracted, motivated and retained in the organization. Today’s increasingly global, and volatile marketplace has driven considerable changes in labour markets and has transformed the practice of human resources Management. I joined the Regional Labour Institute, Nagpur in
the year 2009. Classes were conducted at what used to be the old Morris college
an old colonial building surrounded by a lot of greenery. Just the thought of
going to college made one happy. In my final year the college was transferred to
its present location The IT park area at Gayatri nagar. The faculty was very
knowledgeable and dedicated. The exposure during the industrial visits and
visits to various labour connected departments like the Employee state insurance
scheme and the Provident fund office along with one on one interactions with HR
heads and personal managers was very educative. All in all I would conclude that
The Regional Labour Institute, Nagpur is one of the best institutes and I am
proud to be an Ex student of this institute.
I am based in Canberra( Australian Capital Territory) Australia. Currently working as a store junior manger for The Salvation Army.
I credit my success to the institute.
Thank you very much.

The Labour Relations / Industrial Relations has assumed high significance in the management world due to complexity and requirement of high competency and agility. A simple error by the employer or the management can cause serious repercussion for the organization. On this front, as a student of LNML MILS, Mumbai & RLI, Nagpur has enlightened and provided meaningful insight to deal with workforce of and IR issues to me. Two years PGDLS course has given me Better understanding of the terms to real strategies and techniques to be applied on ground with a problem solving approaches. Because of these, it was easy to deal with small issues to bigger issues such as Strikes, 10 Long Term Settlements, VRS’s to engaging and transforming workforce. A big cheer to Institute & all officials of Institutes and Best of luck to the upcoming batches of MLS.

“A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step“ ………and for me that single step in the world of Human Resources started from MILS, It has been a major building block in my professional journey which has helped me to paint the canvas of achievements & milestones. The institute has been major catalyst in starting my career journey. This has become possible only because the rich curriculum and the able professors who have poured their valuable subject knowledge and management skills which have mounded us into professionals. The one-month Industrial Tour is one of the unique methods and the best blend of education with enthusiasm, emotional intelligence, performance orientation and self-management. This is one reason when today I look back, I can see a MILSites in most of the blue-chip organization across India and abroad. I take this opportunity to convey my warm wishes to the institute, faculty my fellow alumnus and students for their endeavors ahead and wish MILS stands tall in years to come.
The To begin with, I never thought HR as a profession. One of my friends who did this Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Studies (PGDLS), suggested me to join this course at Regional Labour Institute in Nagpur. Formerly it was governed by Govt of Maharashtra, about few years ago it is affiliated to Nagpur university. The uniqueness of this program is, apart from highly qualified faculty members, who are masters of their own field, the practical orientation that offers hands on experience through exposure to various Govt. setups like Labour court, Labour Welfare Board, PF, ESIC and Trade union offices. Block placement gives once in a lifetime opportunity that shapes the lives of many students and ushers them into field of HR. My career is testimony to it. For this I give the entire credit to my alma matter, the Labour Institute. This course, at present is one the best courses and gateway in the field of HR & IR. I strongly recommend this course to the talented graduates in pursuit of a career in the industrial set up. Many a student who are alumni of this institute, have made it big (reached top positions) in the corporate world. Follow them as role models if you can!
